Denzel: "I drank the vodka, I drank in excess" Investigator: "How many?" Denzel: "Yes"
Excellent scene ❤
The simplest prayer, “God help me.”
One of the best scenes I ever seen
😂😂😂😂😂
Quiero escuchar esa confesión en castellano
❤ The man is great. He saved life's and he is made a scape goat
The universal prayer of all drunks at their bottom, “God help me”.
Actions were perfect and saved lives but “aha you drank, ignore the maintenance issues that caused the crash, case closed!”
His voice is actually kind of soothing
You can see it in his face before he says his drunk right now he looks up and relies he has no other path but prison so he just says it to get the weight of his back
This film has a better representation of an actual NTSB hearing than sully
When the plane started going down he has just taken a nap so he would have been relatively fine when he inverted the plane
He could have said, he used the vodka to clean a stain or something, but then we wouldn't be able to virtue signal about his confession with such cinematic effect.
Mate if a woman was in the same shoes they would have sacrificed your plane crash victim ass down the river. Captain save a 304, hold this major L
Agree
😢😢😢😢
GET HELP
was he actually drunk
What's weird about this scene is they are determined to get him even though he saved those people on the plane. They admit in the film that NO PILOT had been able to save the plane, he did it because he was drunk and willing to think 'outside the box'.
This film is great
I don't love love this movie.. but I keep coming back to this scene because it's truly exceptional acting.
Denzel has to be the best actor of all time!
I feel like this has the same vibe as "Did you order the code red?" "You god damn right I did"
The plane engine failed but because he was drunk they can put the responsibility on him instead of the people who are responsible for the failing plane.so sad.thats why i never get under the influence at work.these corporations use faulty equiptment, shady inspections.none of that matters if you get hurt when your drunk smh
The jackscrew failed due to improper maintenance because this film is in part inspired by flight 261 but you can say it was his fault as it was turbulence and the pilots reckless flying that caused the screw to finally fail
Powerful scene, this is my Denzel is one of my fav actors he really knows how to bring emotion to the audience!
Integrity.
The girl in picture above died in the plane crash.....
The role he played was just perfect.

The woman in red is all badass . . . until he says the words, "I'm an alcoholic," upon which she realizes that he is totally fucked, and even though he saved all those lives, for him it's over and actually feels bad for him.
He didn't have to blame Katarina to avoid responsibility for the bottles, maybe someone brought them onboard and asked the flight attendant to throw them away?
But after the events of the film he finally broke down and accepted his addiction as a bad thing and it wasn’t just the crash it was the whole time after the crash his family problems it all built up into this scene so instead of lying he finally wanted to fix everything and he told the truth and accepted that he is an alcoholic and he wanted to better himself he even explains it in the next scene
One of the best actors of all time
Best damn actor!!!!!
This is a perfect depiction of a highly functional alcoholic. They're very very capable of performing their responsibilities when drunk, but outside of those hours of functionality, they're as broken as the drunk lying in the gutter.
whats so terrible about this scene is that not only do you have a soulless prosecutor that will use a persons death as a way to get a confession but also they are condemning a man who literally saved all but one life in a situation that anyone else would have failed to do... just seems dumb
Other people died in the crash
Best actor of all time
He should have stayed silent he would have kept his job
Alcohol gives you the wings to fly, yet it takes the sky away...
…….sigh…RED BULL GIVES YOU WINGS
@@Pinkmen-ho3fz That’s true. I’m speaking realistically my guy lol
Red bull is a scam!
And this is very much a catch 22. If he would've been sober, that whole plane, including him, would be dead. He was able to do what he did only because he was drunk. It's kinda like it was destiny. He was the human sacrifice to save all of those people and he honestly didn't have to sacrifice to much considering the alternative. It's as if it was fate for him to be an alcoholic. Any other pilot in the world would've crashed. He was the only one and it was because he was a functioning drunk.
"I'm drunk right now, Miss Black. But I inverted that shit! whhhhoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"
Miss block
Denzel is one of the greatest of all time. I got goosebumps when he said "because im an alcoholic" ... What an actor ..
Get Back HERE Mary 🎉
I thought to myself, "what is wrong with you"?
This was a great and underrated film
Denzel is good at playing drunks. Man on Fire: The mexicans are still wishing he stayed on the lash but unfortunately he sobered up and went to work with excellent time keeping and wicked skills in chit chat.
Very well acted by Denzel Washington. But this scene is a little silly. “Is it his opinion” that she drank on that flight? What is the 100% honest answer to this question? No. No, it is not his opinion that she drank on that flight. Why would he even have “an opinion” on whether she drank on that flight. It’s a dumb question. Did he *see* her drink on that flight? Did he *ever* see her drink on a flight? These are reasonable questions. What are they even going to do with someone’s *opinion* about whether another person drank?
Hey, did I just see Gus from Breaking Bad???
Remove him from the equation and the math fails
Possibly an arguable opinion: this is top 3 best Denzel performances
